On the eve of 4th of July, Insomniac presented the very first Zedd in the Park — a one-day music festival headlined by anti-bro and nicest DJ around, Zedd. The EDM festival also featured Brownies & Lemonade all-stars, Oliver Tree, Medasin, and Whethan.
Thousands descended upon Los Angeles Historic Park to dance their cares away all whilst wearing their glitter and glow stick best. When Zedd made his way on to the stage around 9pm, the crowd was ready to soak in everything the Russian-German producer had in his arsenal. Everything from current smash hits from Drake, Childish Gambino, and Shawn Mendes, Zedd also threw is some throwback faves enticing a sing-along to the likes of “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen and “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” from Whitney Houston. Of course, the DJ incorporated his own absolute bangers including song of the summer, “The Middle” featuring country singer Maren Morris. Throughout Zedd’s almost two hour set, some special guest stars made some appearances including Ookay, Elley Duhé, and The Chainsmokers.
EDM and dance music are specifically designed for a festival setting. Pulsing beats and crazy visuals against a backdrop of a cool night with food and drinks readily available. But the thing about Zedd and co. that made this particular event so special is that Zedd has a knack for taking his mixes and own produced songs and crossing them over to be more than just a song to get your heartbeat up. At the very start of summer, Zedd in the Park officially kicked off the season in the right way with good food, friends, fireworks and of course, epic tunes.
